The Service's Guarantees With Respect to Each User's Privacy

ClicVU, Inc. is fully committed to safeguarding each user's privacy. Any personal information and personal use of the The ClicVU Disposable Email Address Service ("Service") are held in confidence. The Service will never sell, trade, or rent a user's personal information or information about their personal use of the Service to any third-party either individually or as part of a list of information for purposes of targeting users with unsolicited information. This Privacy Policy discloses how the information a user provides or is collected by the Service is used and protected.

1. General kinds of information the Service collects and how it is collected.
The Service reads general information about the browser on a user's computer so that it can determine which version of the Service to deliver to the user. Differing browsers have differing capabilities and require differing versions of the Service to appear and behave properly when it is interacted with.

This information includes (but is not necessarily limited to):

  • Browser type and version
  • OS type and version
  • Existing cookies from the Service
The Service's servers keep a secure history of each user's use, or more properly speaking, the Disposable Email Addresses created through the Service, and the Real Email Addresses the Disposable Email Addresses forward to along with the user's preferences.
2. What personally identifying information The Service collects and how it is collected.
The Service maintains record of a user's Real Email Address in order to be able to forward email that is addressed to a Disposable Email Addresses. The Service collects this information through a registration form and option settings over which each user has full control and the ability to update. In no case will the Service ever gain this information without a user's express involvement and positive decision to provide the Service with it in connection with the Service.
3. What cookies are and how the Service uses them.
The Service uses a feature of a user's browser to set a "cookie" on their computer. A cookie is a small data item that web sites can store on a computer in order to recognize the web browser uniquely, and by inference the user, during each visit.

The Service uses cookies to track information related to a user session. A user session is started and/or kept active each time a user accesses the website without an active user session and is kept active until they logout or are inactive for a set amount of time.

The Service can only read a cookie that the Service creates and sets on a user's computer. The Service cannot use cookies to read data off a user's hard disk other than the data contained within the cookie, or read cookie files not created by the Service. Users have the option with most browsers to turn cookies off if they should so desire, however due to the nature of the Service, turning cookies off may prevent the Service from functioning properly for that user.

4. How the Service handles and safeguards collected information.
The Service has security measures in place to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under the Service's control. The Service treats all account-specific and personally identifiable information as confidential.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, while The Service strives to protect a user's personal information, The Service cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information transmitted to or through the Service, and each user does so at their own risk. Once The Service receives a transmission, best efforts are used to ensure its security.

5. How the Service uses and benefits from collected information.
The Service uses the general information automatically collected from server logs to monitor aggregate user traffic patterns and site usage to help the Service develop and improve. The Service also uses this type of information to help diagnose problems with servers, administer the Service, and gather broad information and statistics.

The Service may use any additional personal information a user discloses to further personalize their experience. The Service can also use this information to proactively inform a user of important functionality changes to the Service or new services.

The Service does gather all the information it collects into anonymous and general statistics, which may be shared from time to time with advertisers, publishers, and others in conjunction with our services to them.

6. To whom the Service may disclose the information that is collected.
The Service does not disclose any of the information that is collected to a third-party unless (a) disclosing to a third-party performing a business function for us and the third-party is bound by our AUP and our Privacy Policy, (b) a user gives The Service their express permission as part of their interaction with the Service, or (c) The Service is compelled to do so by law or any governing authority with a legal right to do compel The Service to do so.

Please be aware that advertisers on the Service or other web sites that have links within the Service and may collect personally identifiable information about each user on their own. This Privacy Policy and our AUP does not cover the information practices of those web sites.

7. Conditions under which The Service will examine a user's account information in detail.
When warranted The Service may examine the records of a user's account. If any user is found to be committing any fraudulent acts that may conceivably harm or be deemed to potentially cause harm to another person, the Service, or any third-party the Service is professionally engaged with, then the Service will enact its right to examine a user's records. The Service does not tolerate any acts that it considers to be inconsistent with the use of the Service. The Service reserves the right to restrict access to any user found to be responsible for causing any problems in conjunction or connection with the Service or to its other users, or any other third-party, with which The Service is engaged in doing business.
8. How a user can review, update and control the information collected and to whom it is distributed.
The Service may, from time-to-time provide as an opt-in option for each user the ability to provide The Service with personal information in conjunction or connection with the Service or use of the Service. Any information collected in this manner can be subsequently updated, removed, or otherwise altered at the member's command through the use of the Service. The Service does not require a user to provide information at any time that personally identifies the user in order to use the Service. If a user feels at any time that their information has been granted to another entity without their express permission please contact us immediately as shown below and grant us an opportunity, if need be, to rectify the situation.
