Add Contact

Add the Real Email Address of someone as a contact to a Disposable Email Address and create a Contact Email Address (see Contacts and Contact Email Address).

Allow Reply From

Detemines who may reply to email messages received through a Disposable Email Address. The default setting is restrictive and requires that the FROM address of replies be a Real Email Address that is associated with the users account.

Note: The setting on the Disposable Email Address determines the behavior of new contacts. It does not change the setting for any existing contacts. To change the setting for a contact, one must edit the contact itself.

Auto-Expire

Set a Disposable Email Address to automatically turn off after a certain number of days or after a certain number of messages have been received.

Blacklist Mode

The Disposable Email Address reject email from any Contact that is Blacklisted. This is the default Filter Mode and is the least restrictive Filter Mode.

Contacts

Every email address that has either sent email to a specific Disposable Email Address or had email sent to them through a specific Disposable Email Address Service.

Contact Email Address

A special type of Disposable Email Address that is used when replying to a message that is received through a Disposable Email Address. Email sent to a Contact Email Address will be re-written to appear to have come from the Disposable Email Address and will be forwared to the Real Email Address of the associated Contact.

Create Address (for myself)

Create a Disposable Email Address that will forward to one of your Real Email Addresses. This allows you to disclose a working email address without disclosing your Real Email Address

Create Address (for someone else)

Create a single use Disposable Email Address that will forward to someone else's Real Email Address. This allows you to disclose a working email address for someone else (i.e. to forward them something from a website) without disclosing their Real Email Address

Default Real Email Address

The Real Email Address to which a new Disposable Email Address will forward to by default. If more than one Real Email Address is available, the default can be changed from the Profile page.

Default Disposable Email Address Domain

The Domain Name that will be used when creating a new Disposable Email Addresses. If more than one Domain Name is available, the default can be changed from the Profile page.

Delete Contact

Remove a contact from the contacts associated with a given Disposable Email Address. Note: removing a contact will make it impossible to reply to messages that had been previously received from this contact as the Contact Email Address will also be removed.

Disposable Email Address

An email address that forwards to a users Real Email Address. Disposable Email Address are typically disclosed in place of a user's Real Email Address to keep the Real Email Address private and protect it from abuse.

Filter Mode

Indicates whether a Disposable Address is utilizing Blacklist mode or Whitelist Mode. The Filter Mode can be changed at any time and settings for individuals contacts will be kept.

Forwards To

The chosen Real Email Address to which a Disposable Email Address will forward. This can be changed any time.

History

The record of email sent through a Disposable Email Address and manually entered notes.

Local

The part of the Disposable Email Address to the left of the @ symbol. Some service levels allow this to be customized when creating an address rather that using the random address generator. This is sometimes referred to as a vanity address.

Make Entry (on history page)

Make entry will insert a timestamped comment (entered by the user) into the history for a Disposable Email Address.

Nickname

Text that is inserted in the 'From:' field with the Disposable Email Address on all email sent from the Disposable Email Address. This is often used to put a name or handle so that the sender can be identified on Mail-lists. This field is optional and may not be available to all service levels.

Notes

Any further notes about this Disposable Email Address. This field is optional.

Random Address Generator

The system has a built in randomizer for address creation that is meant to pick a Local that is not guessable by others. The system always checks to make sure the address is unique and has never been used before.

Real Email Address

The Email Address to which a Disposable Email Addresses will forward (i.e. you@aol.com, you@hotmail.com, you@yourwork.com). Some service levels allow multiple Real Email Addresses to be maintained.

Reply-To Messages

Determines whether replies to messages received through the Disposable Email Address will be sent through the Disposable Email Address Service (hiding the Real Email Address) or sent directly to the sender (revealing the Real Email Address). The default behavior is to reply through the Disposable Email Adress Service.

Resend Validation

Resends the validation message to the Real Email Address that was entered. Each Real Email Address must be validated before it can be used.

Site Domain

The Domain Name of the website where the Disposable Email Address was used. The Address List and the Quick List are sorted by Site Domain to make locating a Disposable Email Address easy. This field is optional.

Site Password

The password for the site where the Disposable Email Address was used (i.e. NY Times). This field is optional.

Site Username

The username for the site where the Disposable Email Address was used (i.e. NY Times). This field is optional.

Status

Indicates whether a Disposable Email Address is On (allows email through) or Off (prevents email from getting through). The Status can be easily changed from On to Off and Vice Versa.

Subject

Text that is inserted at the beginning of the subject in all email sent to a Disposable Email Address. This makes the email easily identifiable when browsing the list of subjects on incoming email. This field is optional and may not be available on all service levels.

Validated

Indicates that a Real Email Address has been validated. (also see Resend Validation)

Whitelist Mode

The Disposable Email Address will only accept email from Contacts that are Whitelisted. This is the most restrictive Filter Mode.
